It's the final countdown!

Barring the football which starts tomorrow, there's only 3 days to go until the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics! We've had the Diamond Jubilee, Andy Murray in the final at Wimbledon and now the Olympics, if ever there was a time to be proud to be British this is it. We've battled through some of the worst Summer weather ever recorded but now the sun is shining and it's time to back Team GB, so put out your bunting, don your union jack pinny and start making those red, white and blue cupcakes.          

Summer?

So the brief little spell of warm and sunny weather we had back in May seems like a vague and very distant memory. Do you remember the old days when the sun came out for days, not hours, at a time, the rain came in light showers rather than torrential downpours that last for weeks, and it was warm, properly warm, not just a few degrees above the Winter temperatures. It was like this from May through to September and was affectionately known as Summer!!!
Ok, so we have to dig deep, really deep and pull out every last bit of British Spirit that we have. Since when did we let a little bit of rain get the better of us, this is just bigger, fatter, harder, longer rain, but are we going to let it get the better of us....NO!
Get the wellies out, get your macs on and enjoy our green and pleasant land.....
